Back in Chicago

After the long weekend, I've managed to pull myself together, and get back to work here in downtown Chicago. If you haven't heard, my camera went walkies from our apartment on Friday while we were at work, together with 20 bucks, the laundry card and some milk and Coke (hope they didn't drink right out the bottle!)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Wezzo, I know what you're saying, great picturless post. I'm working on it. Pity it wasn't ready for today's excursion - the United Centre, home to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls but I've gone for the more traditional cam. "Studio 35 - single use camera". With flash (effective to 4 feet only). A camera's a camera! So watch this space for pics of the Michael Jordan statue. Awesome, G Man, if you knew what it took to get here. A $25 cab ride, and a walk through the dodgiest part of Chicago with a laptop on my shoulder. I was actually warned to not walk around that area at all. But I'm Safrican, and I ain't scared of crime. Hope the photos came out all right...

Then it was off to the John Hancock building, one of the top 5 tallest buildings in Chicago. Ten dollars got you a 40 second elevator ride to the 100th floor - it's the fastest elevator in the world at 30 feet per second! And a 360 degree view of Chicago and Lake Michigan. Awesome. Pics to come as well.
