More of Chicago
We went for a boat ride down the Michigan River for a tour of the buildings. Really interesting, but not worth the $20 we had to fork out. Definitely worth the look on everybody's faces when I left the office at 5pm... over here, overtime is king, and the later you work, the more you're worth.
This is inside the Sear's Tower - the lift stack goes to the 102nd floor!! That still excludes the floors above that that aren't accessible from the lifts! This is a radio station that broadcasts from the curbside in Machigan Avenue, quite cool.
A carving on the Michagan Avenue bridge. And me on the boat with the sun setting behind the Chicago skyline.
If you watched The Apprentice (no, not Tokyo's one), you'll remember that Bill won, and undertook to manage the building of the new Trump Towers - a $750 million project! Well, here's the start of it! You saw it first on Dari Dawg! Then the second tallest block of residential apartments in the country, second only to Trump Towers in NYC. All the celebs live here, including Oprah, Sammy Sosa and others.
The city by night.
We ended up at Navy Pier for dinner and fireworks - this is one of the entertainment hotspots in downtown Chicago.
And for you Forrest Gump fans, BUBBA GUMP Shrimp Co. Fried shrimp, booled shrimp, curried shrimp, mixed masala and mudder-in-law's hellbanger shrimp... I'm sure you remember now!
I'm back in Denver for Labour Day weekend, fly back on Tuesday. Stay tuned for the United Centre (home of the Bulls) and other touristy sites and sounds!
F'shizzle.
